United Citizens

It's time for us to talk about Citizens United. Citizens United was a supreme court case about how SuperPacs worked. How to fund them as well as other key rules around them. I want to focus on the funding aspect in which a SuperPac allows for unlimited anonymous donations. Superpacs are not connected to individual campaigns which is at least one positive thing. My goal is to fix the superpacs funding mechanisms by creating an organization focused on how to correctly fund superpacs. One key issue with funding is that someone could donate to a 501c4 organization as much as they’d like potentially anonymously and than those organizations can donate to Superpac organizations which in turns creates dark money. Specifically we need to focus on bringing politics closer to home. One way we could do this is with something like this prototype that was created by AI(https://github.com/wanderinganalyst/purp). This would allow for representatives to be funded locally; as well as focus on their constituents with a way to confirm where each user lives. From there we can start the trend funded by constituents; for constituents. As we slowly work together to fight this fight the end goal is to give the tools to independents to compete with the two party system. This would help with scheduling, help with creating superpacs that follow our rules, make it simpler for representatives to create their own pacs. As well as allow for constituents to be more involved in the process of law creations. In the application it allows for representatives to show their work before they submit it to their state congress; this would allow for constituents to comment on the laws and provide comments along the way. It would also be a way for representatives to better communicate across states about which laws have worked well and passed versus the ones that have not worked well and did not pass. At the end of the day the goal for the prototype is to provide a new way for representatives to communicate, fund, run and work by allowing constituents in at every step of the way.
