My First failed start up Kolectiv

I was just out of college and working with people I knew to try and start a company that combined recruiting with education. My thought process was that we should work backwards with companies to build out curriculums for jobs they had posted. What I wanted was a person to be able to log in to the website and see potential jobs. From there those jobs would have curriculums attached to them that would give them an idea of what kind of skills they needed to obtain that job. It was one of those things where it was a small idea that would have been added on to. The next step would have been doing first round interviews on the website so that companies could listen to first round interviews and invite individuals who had finished the curriculum to second round interviews basically getting rid of the first 30 minute interview that is just a feeler for each other. This would have given companies more options to choose from, waste less time with recruiters by setting up a time that works for each other and companies could have paid us for custom first round interview options. The way I was planning on making money was based on placement just like a recruiting company. It didn’t work out. The people I was with didn’t think it was a good idea and ran away and forgot about it. It happens but I do think it’s still a need in the market especially with AI building. We need to figure out a way to get people jobs they can grow into and thrive and this still could be a way to do that. I thought of this idea back in 2019 and still have some of the work that was done on it but in the end it failed. Who knows why it failed other than it did. I wanted to eventually parlay that into a larger educational platform, an immersive learning platform. I think that if you would look into something like that the best course of action for immersive learning is either history or learning of a language. If you do history you're basically playing a game like assassins creed. If you do it for the languages you can do it like a travel-like game where you are in VR in a different country and are forced to speak the language. You could build yourself up from a speed stand point in these immersive worlds for languages. It's one of those things that it's easy to look at and say it would work but the team I was with didn’t execute with me and I’ll blame myself for the failure. This idea still has a shot though and if it interests you please reach out. I’ve been pushing for change in the world anyways and feel as though this could be a small change we see in our lifetime. One day someone will jump in with me and push but until then I’ll keep pondering.
